Privacy Policy

This is a short, plain-English description of how Online Hafi handles your personal data. We have written it to be readable in a single sitting, and we welcome any question about it at [email protected].

Who we are

The journal is published by the editorial desk of Online Hafi, registered at Office 1402, Al Maqam Tower, ADGM Square, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The data controller for any personal information you share with us is the editor-in-chief.

What information we collect

• Reader letters and enquiries. When you write to the editorial inbox, we keep your e-mail address and your message for as long as the conversation is active, and for one year afterwards in case you write to us again.
• Newsletter subscribers. If you subscribe to the Friday dispatch, we keep your e-mail address and the date you subscribed. We do not store any other information about subscribers.
• Anonymous traffic. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser, requested page, time of request) for a maximum of fourteen days, used solely to diagnose technical problems.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or otherwise share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We do not run third-party advertising on the website.
• We do not load social-network tracking pixels.
• We do not pass your e-mail address to any third-party newsletter platform.

Cookies

The website uses two kinds of cookie:

• A first-party preference cookie that remembers your choice on the cookie banner.
• An optional anonymous analytics cookie that helps us understand which pages are read most. You can decline this on the banner, and the website will work identically without it.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected, and to ask for it to be deleted. We respond to these requests within two working days. Write to [email protected] from the e-mail address concerned.

Data location

Our servers are located in the European Economic Area. Newsletter e-mails are sent from the same servers; we do not use third-party mailing platforms.
